If you answered yes to all the question above, then you should know Congressional Country Club is seeking a Food and Beverage Management Trainee. The F&B Management trainee participates in a comprehensive Food & Beverage rotation throughout all departments with the goal of gaining leadership experience and a comprehensive understanding of Food & Beverage Operations. Key learning outcomes include, but are not limited to: Leading teams, developing team members and positively impacting member service.

What will be expected of you:

  • Learn the foundations of each hourly position by working the position:

       - Heart of House (Dish, Prep, Pantry, Grill, Fry and Expo)

       - Food Runner, Drink Runner and Busser

       - Bar Back, Bartender

       - Server

  • Work Opening and Closing MOD shifts during each hourly position training shift to learn how, as a Manager, you will Open and Close
  • Complete MOD Open & Close Checklists for each hourly position training shift
  • Work MOD Shadow Shifts assisting the management team in different areas of the club to support team members, members and their guests
  • Work MOD Solo Shifts assisting the management team to support team members and members
  • Write and submit detailed Weekly Recaps to aid in knowledge retention and submit to Manager
  • Maintain a high level of self-awareness of performance of the internship competencies
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including mornings, mid-shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays

How we determine your qualifications:

  • Progression towards degree, major in Hospitality Management or Hotel & Restaurant Management
  • Minimum senior level or recent graduate (if a recent graduate, must have graduated no longer than 1 year previous to internship semester)
  • Work experience in the hospitality field, 1+ years (restaurant, hotel, or golf environment)
  • Leadership experience in the hospitality field, 1+ years
