If you answered yes to all of the questions above, then you should know Congressional Country Club is seeking a Landscape Foreman. The Landscape Foreman is part of a group of the core Team Members behind the beautiful 36 holes at Congressional Country Club.

Congressional Country Club is looking for Team Members that believe the impossible is possible. They are driven to continuously make a positive impact on the organization and believe that as a team we can accomplish more.

What will be expected of you:

  • Supervise team members to ensure they are working responsibly and adhering to mandated Safety Procedures
  • Interview new team members and participate in the orientation process and training of new team members
  • Perform other functions and routine landscape operations activities as directed by, Director of Golf Course Maintenance, Grounds Superintendent, Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents
  • Operate rotary mowers, string trim around trees, shrubs, posts, etc.
  • Perform manual weeding, edge sidewalks, landscape beds, etc.
  • Lay sod, apply mulch
  • Operate blowers (such as push, backpack and handheld), vacuums and other hand tools
  • Operate utility vehicles, tractor, loader backhoe, boom lifts, chainsaws and a verity of powered equipment.
  • Setup daily work schedules, including applications of fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides and related record keeping. Must obtain license for pesticide and fertilizer applications.
  • Perform calibrations of application equipment and complete applications with proper PPE
  • Maintain and repair irrigation systems and controllers.
  • Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment
  • Clean machinery and fuel equipment after each use
  • Inspect all machines (before, during and after use) and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Manager
  • Be thoroughly trained in proper procedures required to perform each task as outlined in the guidelines of the Green & Grounds Operations Manual
  • Follow guidelines as outlined in the Golf Course Management System (GCMS) Manual
  • Supervise employees to ensure they are working responsibly and adhering to mandated Safety Procedures

How we determine your qualifications:

  • A minimal high school education or equivalent years of experience. 
  • Horticultural or Landscape educations is preferred but not required. 
  • Must have experience with landscape management, turf grass management, including maintenance operation and safety procedures. 
  • Specialized training required to operate specific equipment types to perform specific tasks relative to the Landscape Operations of the Green & Grounds Department. 
  • Must have a valid Maryland Pesticide License or be able to obtain one in the appropriate time frame.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License of any state.
