If you answered yes to all the question above, then you should know Congressional Country Club is seeking an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager focus will be on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and leading the developments of team members on both teams

The Congressional Country Club is looking for Team Members that believe the impossible is possible. Who are driven to continuously make a positive impact on the organization and believe that as a team we accomplish more.

What will be expected of you:

  • Monitor and analyze the accounting team's workload to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources, while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all membership inquiries
  • Collaborate with all departments to minimize billing errors
  • Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff as needed
  • Ensure monthly member statements are generated timely and accurately
  • Assist the Controller with financial analysis, budgeting, and other tasks as they arise
  • Process day-to-day transactions
    • Upload payment files from all cash receipts sources
    • Ensure all activity on bank statements is posted to the general ledger
    • Ensure all membership billings are recorded timely and accurately
    • Process member transfer billings and refunds
    • Review and approve checks for proper support, approvals and account coding
    • Submit positive pay files to the bank and reconcile payments
    • Prepare and submit the sales & use tax and A&A tax filings
    • Manage the club-within-a-club financial statements


  • The ability to provide excellent service, including being able to effectively manage resources, create and implement enhancements across the firm to efficiently achieve service standards, and to coach junior teammates on how to address complex service challenges
  • The ability to oversee and advise on multiple complex projects, including encouraging workflow and work plan innovations, and ensuring deliverables are high-quality and meet clients' needs
  • The ability to coach colleagues in how to understand stakeholders' perspectives and to handle high-level stakeholder challenges
  • The ability to effectively communicate difficult messages, to represent the firm to external audiences, and to mentor colleagues in how to adapt style, tone, and content to various audiences
  • The ability to help the team overcome collaboration challenges and promote compromise, inclusion, and openness; promote and lead activities that support an open, safe, and inclusive organization; understand the context in which we work and build critical cross-team connections; and share useful knowledge firm wide
  • The ability to regularly integrate learning to improve team operations, to lead learning opportunities that enhance team performance, and to be a mentor to others
  • The ability to empower teammates to solve problems and provide guidance only when necessary; to solve complex challenges without clear owners or solutions by identifying innovative approaches; and to facilitating coordination with others and to coach colleagues in thinking through solutions
  • Other duties as assigned


How we determine your qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 5-7 years' experience ideal
  • Experience having a team of direct reports
  • Strong customer service acumen
  • A self-starter with high attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Club/hospitality experience preferred
